Yoga is at the basis and offers the frame for everything Soulmate offers.
Yoga is more than a sport.
Just as we are more than our body, and need more than only physical strength and fitness to be well, Yoga is more than exercise. It also works on a mental and spiritual level - training the body in order to calm the mind and connect to the soul.
Through asana practice, pranayama and meditation, Yoga helps to connect with the body, reduce stress and control our "monkey mind". It fosters kindness and compassion for all beings, and is the perfect basis to cultivate understanding, helpfulness and love - for oneself and for others. It helps to detach from the ego and rethink one's values.
Everybody can practice Yoga.
Yoga is a philosophy, not a religion.
Based on these principles, Soulmate wants to hold space for EVERYBODY.
And it wants to offer a frame to get together and create community, foster cultural exchange and promote mutual understanding, respect and inclusion.
