Budokon
Budokon, abbreviated BDK, is an all embracing hybrid movement system created by american mixed martial artist Cameron Shayne in 2001, that combines Yoga with Calisthenics, animal locomotion, mobility training and striking and grappling techniques.
The word Budokon derives from the Japanese syllables BU (warrior) DO (way) and KON (spirit), and translates as "The way of the warrior spirit". It was named for the spirit one must posses in order to change the changeable and make peace with the unchangeable.
Budokon is for movers of all types seeking the highest level of agility, mobility, stamina, and strength.

Susanne teaches Budokon Yoga, and includes mobility training and animal locomotion in her Yoga and bodyweight training classes. She is one of a few teachers in Italy offering this style.

Budokon style Yoga is a dynamic, physically challenging Yoga style that synchronises classical Hatha Yoga with martial arts, calisthenics and animal locomotion. Mind science and Zen Buddhism are its' philosophical pillars.

The foundation of Budokon Yoga is the Primary Series, which consists of 7 intelligently assembled sections of slow and controlled movements designed to improve mobility, agility, flexibility and strength. The techniques are learned through repetition and precision, the emphasis being on the transitions from posture to posture, rather than the holding of postures. The purpose of this class is to gain muscular strength, cardiovascular stamina, and joint mobility, while sharpening focus and fostering self observation.

Try a Budokon Yoga class every Saturday at 17.00, and discover the warrior in you. Or contact Susanne for mobility and strength training classes (currently only 1:1 or as workshops and specials).
